Fringe Benefits!

Okay, so i’ve started to notice that the whole fringe detailing has started to pick up in popularity…

It started, well it started for me when I saw the Louboutin sandals…

Vhristian Louboutin Costa Nada Flat Sansals

Christian Louboutin Costa Nada Flat Sandals

These are incredible! The simple design and the fringe detail are just stunning! But yea, back to the main point, fringe. This is where I first began to notice that the fashion for footwear fringe began. Perhaps because of the revolution in wearing flat shoes? Could this be a way to add something special to a flat shoe???

Moving on, there is more than one way to add some fringe to your footwear; how about this special little number from Guiseppe Zanotti…

Guiseppe Zanotti, Fringe Leather Stud Trainers £715

Guiseppe Zanotti, Fringe Leather Stud Trainers £715

I give you, the fringe platform trainer! Think grunge pocahontas; the movement in the fringe as you walk will be incredible, and the stud detailing with the buckles is right on trend for this season. A concealed wedge is also your best friend; you can give off the impression that you’re wearing just a normal pair of high top trainers, but you’ve somehow managed to get incredible legs at the same time?!! Magic!

Michael Kors, Daphne Fringe Sandals, £395

Michael Kors, Daphne Fringe Sandals, £395

Now these look good; it’s no secret that I have more than a little soft spot for Mr Kors, and these re-affirm my love. The simple barely there sandal shape has been given an uplift with the multi-strand ankle strap and the side fringe detailing is beautiful. There is something so simple about these shoes; the camel colour is perfect for the autumn season, the sandal shape allows you to continue the summer vibes and the suede is a classic material! What’s not to love?!

Bertie Lako, Tassel Flat Shoes £69.00

Bertie Lako, Tassel Flat Shoes £69.00

And for something more retro, the classic flat loafers with the tassel detailing. I can remember these being popular when I was in nursery; the shape and tassel detailing is something that is trustworthy and classic, it’s not surprising that that has made a resurgence in popularity. These shoes allow you to have the comfort of flat shoes combined with the fringe/ tassel detailing that is right on trend, particularly is combined with sharp tailoring. Outstanding!!

Welcome to the Jungle!

So, I’ll admit I’ve never really paid that much attention to fashion week; perhaps because i’ve not really known when they happened, but now because of the rise in media outlets, and myself actually paying attention, I’ve seen some absolute jems during London Fashion Week.

I’m relatively new to instagram, other than taking pictures of my dog or the odd culinary fail, I haven’t had that much to do with it. But now I’ve been able to see first hand the new creations of my favourite designers, in this circumstance, Sophia Webster.

I’ve had a pair of shoes on here previously about crazy cut outs, they had a black leather base and some amazing neon details that made them just incredible! And now she’s back with a SS15 collection that is just as amazing!

Patterns, bold colours, intricate detailing. Just three words to describe the new collection from such an incredible designer.

As it says on her website, feminine designs with a sophisticated and modern approach. I literally can not agree any more! She attended the incredible Cordwainers college in London, the same place of miss Charlotte Olympia!

Pictures will be put up later so you can see for yourself just how talented this person is!

So here we go, the pictures!! What is the first thing you notice? The colour right? The pattern? The incredible brightness and bold print? Which ever one it is, just from this picture, which I’ll admit isn’t that great (the quality is all my fault), you can already begin to see the incredible collection that we are about to behold!

Lilico Jungle Platform

Yeah, I love these! I love the colours, I love the patterns and the flower details on the front are just adorable! There is the classic design with the t-bar ankle strap but they have been given such a modern twist and brought right into the here and now! The clashing patterns and monochrome mixed with the colourful flowers is stunning!

The Junglistas!

The incredible models showcasing the brilliant collection! I seriously need a pair of these shoes to brighten up my day.

If you haven’t already, go and check out the Sophia Webster website or, where i got these images from, follow her on instagram!!

Tell Me About It, Stud

Everyone knows the line from ‘Grease’, it’s a classic. It’s also true for the new Valentino collection, classic.

Studs are a great way to update any outfit, they are so small yet incredibly effective; when ever you want to add an extra bit of edge to your look, studs are the perfect solution.
Valentino has brought us a collection that incorporates classic shoe designs with pyramid studs; really what is there not to like? Incredible shoes that have a classic look that have been given a slight re-design and now can add that extra little something to your outfit without even trying!

Valentino. So Noir 65 Pump £610

Valentino. So Noir 65 Pump £610

These shoes hit so many positive marks for me it’s amazing: buckle’s- check, studs- check and most importantly classic design- check! I have a real sort spot for a pair of pointed toe court shoes, there’s something about the elegance and clean lines that i think it just so beautiful. But here, we have something that is a classic design with some of the seasons trends- the buckle and in this case i think the stud. Now, not a stud that brings images of goths and grunge, something different more like edge.

Valentino Rockstud Pumps. £560

Valentino Rockstud Pumps. £560

Flat Mary Jane shoes have really rocketed up in popularity this season (I think it may have something to do with the comfortable sliders revolution, god bless that person that gave us comfortable shoes!) And i’m loving these. Classic black leather, obviously, but the extra nude colour really adds something, especially with the gold embellishments. Strap details, buckles and studs, yes yes yes!

And to finish of a stud-tastic view of the new collection, how about something looking to the future and the eventual on coming winter

Valentino, Studded Leather Biker Boots £850

Valentino, Studded Leather Biker Boots £850

Biker boots, they were insanely popular last winter, and really why wouldn’t they be? They allow your feet to stay toasty warm and dry but you also look awesome too! Leather straps, black studs this time, and the small chunky heel really give you something to turn your luxury look into something more edgy and perhaps even rough??

Well, they do say, if it isn’t rough it isn’t fun, right?

Pretty Little Things

So, i’ve been a little distracted recently and have been completely off the ball with my shoe infatuation but I am back on it and have found some absolute beauties!!!

It’s no secret that I love anything with a bit of sparkle; I think it really brings and outfit together and can really turn an ordinary outfit into something outstanding! So imagine my delight when I go the Harrods site and the first things I see are these stunners…

Giuseppe Zanotti Coline Sandals. £1, 440

Giuseppe Zanotti Coline Sandals. £1, 440

I think I’m in love! You know when you imagine yourself going to a ball, wearing a stunning black gown that fits you perfectly and you feel on top of the world…well these are the shoes you need to be wearing at that moment. I think these are absolutely incredible. Because they are simple and to the point that’s what gives them the wow factor. Gold embroidered leaves and delicate diamante’s create the most exquisite design which looks even more stunning thanks to the rich dark black of the suede material. If there was ever a party shoe to be created, this is it.

Dolce & Gabbana Silver Lining Shoe £945

Dolce & Gabbana Silver Lining Shoe £945

I’m not entirely sure why, but these shoes make me want to dance a Tango with Antonio Banderas with a rose between my teeth. Part of a collection that celebrates the new Shoe Heaven at Harrods (I haven’t been there yet but I’m dying to go!) They are delicate, dainty and utterly elegant. The black suede makes the silver details shine even brighter and the design is to intricate you can’t help but stop and stare. These shoes call for a short black dress, perhaps something with a mesh panel to have the silver details really take the centre of attention.

Now I know were only in August, well more so September now, but I am so excited for Christmas and the coming party season. Sparkle, shine and elegance, everything i look for a a pair of shoes!

Just One Little Thing

Have you ever looked at a seemingly plain pair of shoes and thought they are outstanding!! I think you can get the most impact with a pair of shoes when they have just one main detail; whether it be something big or small, bold or delicate, one detail can make a whole world of difference.

I think the best way this can be showed off is with a staple pair of court shoes; clean lines, classic design and allow for a simple design with that one dazzling detail.

Manolo Blahnik Hangisi Pumps. £649.80

Manolo Blahnik Hangisi Pumps. £649.80

Now this is what I’m talking about! Satin court shoes are stunning the majority of the time; they are classic, elegant and very Audrey Hepburn esque. But with this added, well I’m not quite sure what to call it, crystal detailing in an almost buckle shape, they are incredible! Manolo Blahnik has given the world some of the most beautiful shoes, and he hasn’t stopped here; I love how the satin material is taken to a new level against the shine of the crystals. Now there is a very fine line between classy and trashy when it comes to using crystals, this is very much so in the realm of classy! Any special occasion would be made that little bit better with these beauties; classic, simple and elegant.

Manolo Blahnik Hangisi 105 Pumps. £649.80

Manolo Blahnik Hangisi 105 Pumps. £649.80

I think I may get a little carried away with this post and just declare my new, and undying love, for this Manolo Blahnik collection. The same sort of style but with a different shape of shoe this time; the same grace and elegance but this time with a more modern twist. The slightly higher heel and more rounded features are just stunning; I love the added metallic band at the base of the heel, just another small detail pushing these shoes from ordinary to extra ordinary. And we can’t forget to mention the colour of these also, I’m not quite sure how this is possible but the satin and the crystals seem to work together to brighten each other.

Manolo Blahnik Borlak Satin Pumps. £575.73

Manolo Blahnik Borlak Satin Pumps. £575.73

Let’s make it a triple whammy and round this off with a third stunner by Blahnik. For me, these are a cross between a court shoe and a pair of loafers. The high section coming up along the foot gives the classic shape of the loafer, that royal shoe, and plays host to a rather bold and beautiful collection of crystals. Clean lines and sharp edges of the crystal design match those of the shoe itself; the soft angles of the pointed toe and the stiletto heel, stunning!! The small square of colour hidden within the crystals really adds a little touch.

I didn’t intend to have this wholly about Manolo Blahnik, but when shoes look this stunning who cares!

All Caged Up

Perhaps not the best title description for a pair of shoes, but I think it’s a half decent description of the latest ankle boots that are on offer to us right now. Perhaps due to the inevitable change if seasons, ankle boots have started to pop up in the pages of the ‘what’s new’ section of websites. I think they’re the perfect solution to those nights that are getting a little bit shorter and allowing you to be completely prepared for your autumn/winter wardrobe.

I’ll admit it right here, I’ve not owned a pair of ankle boots, they always reminded me of some questionable 80’s esque outfit that my Auntie would try and wear at family parties; fake leather, boots being slightly too tall and trousers just that touch too short and no, just no. But when I saw some of these new styles I was happily surprised, I like the way that there is the almost bandage effect, does that make sense? Or perhaps cut-out would be a better way to describe it.

Jimmy Choo Wister Ankle Boots £650

Jimmy Choo Wister Ankle Boots £650

I think these are outstanding; Jimmy Choo has really made me change my opinion about ankle boots, thank you! The skinny heel is a real statement, you can;t be a shy wall flower in these heels; there’s no doubt about the confidence boots that these will give you. And the material, appearances are deceiving, from the look of them they look kind of edgy and biker, thanks to the snake effect, but they are make from suede. Buttery soft, make you want to just sit and stroke them all day and say ahhhh suede.
The contrast between the edgegyness of snake skin effect and feminine mesh and suede is stunning.

Ted Baker Reannon Boots £140

Ted Baker Reannon Boots £140

Wow! Just Wow! I love these; the thin suede cross over straps have just a beautiful elegance, and the mesh inserts somehow manage to bring these all together. I’m sure these would be stunning without the mesh but it seems that all together they are just incredible. Ted Taker has been a favorite of mine for a long time, especially the floral designs, but these are outstanding!
The small gold detail on the heel just adds that little extra touch; the thin band resembles the suede straps but perhaps with a more elegant twist.

Sam Edelman Zavier Cut Out Shoes £149

Sam Edelman Zavier Cut Out Shoes £149

A bit different to the other two options we have, because mainly these aren’t boots but they aren’t too dissimilar. The suede material, like the offering from our lovely  Ted Baker, really adds a touch of elegance; I’m not quite sure why but I do seem to think that suede shoes look a little more elegant and classy. Lace up details at the front bring together the cut out design while the zip along the back allows for easy access. The cut out design is really quite intricate, the different lays of material give a slight woven effect.

Any of these would make me more than happy, if I could, i’d taken them all but that would be just greedy!

Paint Me A Picture

Block colour shoes make a real style statement; they’re classy, elegant and look good on all women for any occasion. But what about when you want to be a little bit more daring and instead of having you shoes match your outfit, what about matching your outfit to your shoes and letting your feet do the talking?!

Enter the shoes that are now as pretty as a picture, quite literally.

Burberry Prorsum. Painted Boots £1,195

Burberry Prorsum. Painted Boots £1,195

How incredible are these? These beauties are hand painted, yes you heard right, hand painted!! I love how the leather actually looks like it could be the canvas of a picture hanging in the Louvre. With a slight platform at the front it makes them that little bit more comfortable with the super high heel!! Any autumn wardrobe would look outstanding with these boots; paired with some short tailoring, get those pins out and have the focus on these bad boys!

MSGM Floral print satin shoes £270

MSGM Floral print satin shoes £270

Afternoon tea anybody? We’ve just found the perfect shoes so why not? These are so dainty and delicate, I need them in my life. The water colour design is something like that picture Monet did ‘Water Lillies.’ The small kitten heel, perhaps not the best for making your legs look that extra bit vava voom, actually works brilliantly here because it’s in keeping with the dainty femininity. Pencil skirts would look great with these, or cropped trousers; something that will give these shoes the attention they deserve.

Stuart Weitzman. Nouveaux Court Shoes. £550

Stuart Weitzman. Nouveaux Court Shoes. £550

Perhaps not as obvious as our first example, I mean please how much more can you get to pretty as a picture shoes than a pair of hand painted beauties, but I think these still fall into the same category, no? The monochrome floral design is a cross between the feminine dainty flowers yet with an edge because of the colour choice. And that snakeskin textured material really brings the shoes to life; these would look great in satin but I think the rough texture really adds to that contrast of the feminine with a edge.

Pretty as a picture shoes are stunning, I need them all.

Buckle me up, Scotty!

The Buckle. A design staple for any 90’s school shoes, the ones that have recently had a resurgence in popularity; you know which one’s I mean, the t-bar round toe with some brogue-style dot patterns in them. I had them when I was 5, I know you did too.

But still, the buckle is something that is such a simple design feature but has to power to transform the whole look of a shoe. For example, take a classic like a Chelsea boot- clean lines and pretty much nothing too exciting but add some buckle’s and a strap of leather here and there, you’ve got yourself a Biker Boot revolution!!

Sergio Rossi. Monk strap shoes £820

Sergio Rossi. Monk strap shoes £820

Just look at these; on the one hand they are a simple shoe on the flip side they are outrageous! Let’s start with the colour, black and silver, these are not for the feint-hearted, you really have to have balls to wear these and pull them off. Then we have the spike detail which makes them bang on trend and a staple for those that want to add a grunge element to their look. And last, but not least, the buckle. Despite the competition from the colour and spike details, I think the buckle is actually the stand out design element for these shoes. I love the big chunky holes, you cant have anything delicate with these. They actually remind me of the shoes that Jon Cryer wore in Pretty in Pink. It’s like the best film ever, watch it!

moving on…

Givenchy. Tina Ankle Boots. £1,055

Givenchy. Tina Ankle Boots. £1,055

So, at a glace you’ve got a pretty bog standard pair of Chelsea boots; but wait, the one big detail right in the centre takes these boots from bog standard to amazing!! Yes, there is nothing wrong with a pair of plain boots, but why have plain when you can have that little added extra of a buckle, and in this case a pretty big one, that takes your look up to the next level. These would work perfectly with work, rest or play. There really are no limits!!

Jimmy Choo, Melba Ankle Boots £625

Jimmy Choo, Melba Ankle Boots £625

Seeing as the autumn months will soon be approaching; yes, I can hear all the cries now about how the summer has only just arrived, we all know it wont last long, why not be prepared with these little beauties?! I must admit, I’m not always sure I like ankle boots, not entirely sure at to why but these however, I really like! Jimmy Choo has given us a pair of boots to carry us through from late summer nights through to those chilly autumn days where we lust after the sunshine and heat. Made from dark brown suede, they have a certain earthy feel about them and I love the almost dainty gold Buckle. It’s the small details like the size of the buckle and the fact that they’re gold, but not too shiny, that makes these so stunning! I agree with the outfit choice from Net-a-Ported, white cropped jeans and earthy greens or nude colour to really bring out the beauty of these boots!!

Lace and Elegance

Can anything be more classy than black court shoes? They are a classic design that makes every single woman wearing them look amazing; the confidence boost that you get is second to none and who can resist wanting to feel like Audrey Hepburn?

So how amazing that the shape can give you that super hero feeling, but the introduction of some lace can turn you into a sultry seductress or vamp up that look? I love lace, I think it’s so delicate and intricate and can have the power to make you feel so feminine and beautiful; so to have a shoe that gives you confidence, femininity and beauty, have we just found the holy grail of all shoes?!

Louboutin. Follies Lace Dentelle. £540

Louboutin. Follies Lace Dentelle. £540

This is the best place to start, Mr Louboutin strikes again with these outstanding beauties! The lace looks so fine and intricate; it would almost be a crime to wear them and potentially hurt them. The design of these shoes is something that, for me, is to classic that as I look at them further I can see Audrey Hepburn as she walks around Tiffanys in her beautiful dresses. Oh, if I could only look half has elegant as she does and to be honest I think I could actually achieve the look in these. The stiletto hell would make your legs look incredible and the red sole, well what is there to say about that other than outstanding!

Gianvito Rossi. Calabria Court Shoes. £470

Gianvito Rossi. Calabria Court Shoes. £470

Now, If you’re looking for something with a modern twist on a classic, you’ve hot the jackpot with these!! The clear side panels give the shoes a new look that is modern and exciting; it has been used by a few designers this season (my favorite Charlotte Olympia included with her 9 till 5 collection) but this takes the peek-a-boo to a whole new level! How beautiful would you feel in a pair of these shoes with an elegant evening gown; you have the perfect combination of grace, elegance and modern design.

Charlotte Olympia, Debbie Lace Shoes. £585

Charlotte Olympia, Debbie Lace Shoes. £585

And now for these absolute stunners, what can I say other than amazing?! There really is something special about a pair of black lace shoes; how they have the classic grace and elegance of a 1950’s Hollywood movie star, it’s a look that will never be out of fashion. The platform sole give them a slightly modern twist, but still maintains the classic look while giving a slight hat tip to the designer herself. The gold piping really sets off the lace; yes, it’s only a very small detail but it’s the details that count!

If I could have any of these shoes this season, I’d be one happy girl!!

Use Your Loafers

Every time I did something stupid when I was a kid, my Nan always used to say to me ‘use your loaf.’ Be smart, use your head and buy a pair of loafers this season because they are outstanding!

They have been around for a few seasons now, Alexander McQueen being one of the brilliant designers to go down the road of the classic loafer style.
I think I have made some hints about my feelings about this style of shoes; slippers make me feel like some kind of royal. Yes, I know that sounds a bit weird to say, but they just have this kind of elegance about them and I can imagine the Queen wearing something like them.

So here are a few of my current favourites…

Valentine Embroidered Loafers. £610

Valentino Embroidered Loafers. £610

These are incredible. The sheer amount of detail in these shoes is brilliant; the embroidery is so intricate and the butterfly design is beautiful. I think the subtle colours and tones make them perfect for the eventual change in seasons and weather (there is no chance that all this sunshine is going to last much longer!) They are a sure fire way to add a pop of coulour into an autumn/ winter wardrobe! I think these would be best suited with a fairly plain outfit, well perhaps plain is not the word, what i mean is maybe monochrome so that the shoes can really take the centre stage and be the focus point. And why not, they’re awesome; show them off!

Alexander McQueen Slippers £540

Alexander McQueen Slippers £540

Now these are a thing of beauty; I love how they almost look like a pair of ballet shoes but the metallic toe gives them the element of class you get from a pair of slippers. Even just looking a the picture here, you can see that the leather looks incredibly soft, no chance of getting blisters in these bad boys! The metallic toe is a simple but effective detail that pushes these shoes into being ordinary into extra-ordinary! I don;t know why but I think these would be best suited with something like a pair of cropped black trousers or short skirt. These shoes need to be the centre of attention. Understated class and elegance. I need these in my life!

Louboutin Rolling Spikes Flats. £845

Louboutin Rolling Spikes Flats. £845

Now these are a pair of statement shoes! The black velvet gives them the sought after royal appeal, well maybe it’s only an appeal for me, but hey they are cranked up a notch with the all over black spikes! The low heel will give you that little bit of height all women are searching for, but not enough to provide the sore feet that inevitably follows. I’m trying really hard to find something about these that I don’t like, but I actually can’t think of anything! For me, I think these are like the perfect pair of loafers; they are classy, elegant but they have an understated style that is outstanding! And then who can forget the famous red sole, It’s all about the red.

Use your loaf, get a pair of loafers this season. You wont be sorry
